College Cable Problems Please Help!

I will be attending Brandeis next year and they offer ATT cable service (included in room prices) anyway my problem is that they offer a standard package and no way to upgrade. The package does not include any movie channels HBO, Showtime etc, and is also missing SCIFI. I would rather not miss the last season of the Sopranos, along with Farscape, Lex and other sci-fi shows. I don?t believe that getting satellite in the dorm would be possible, so I am wondering if there are any other options. I am reluctant to go with a descrambler, but if it is the only way, since I am paying for channels that I will not use, I guess not paying for channels that I will use is not so bad. Also supposedly a descrambler won?t work, (I guess that is possible if they don?t send the signal instead of just scrambling it). Any suggestions on how to deal with this legally and if not recommendations on how to do it otherwise.

You'll just have more time to study. If the channels are scrambled, you might get by with a descrambler, you check the legality with the school and such. Most likely the channels are blocked in which case you will not get them period. If you have a window facing south, you should be able to point a dish on the inside and receive signal.
