I hope jason at the essex county jail didn't have anything really important to say, and if he did he shouldn't have called collect. :)

That's about the strangest wrong number phone call I've ever gotten.

They don't let you NOT call collect at jail. That's the only way. Unfortunately for him, he probably used up his phone time. Heh.

I used to get those now and then. Always from someone local. Thank God for Caller ID.

Yeah, that's funny...I remember this time my friend's mom was taken down to the station for speeding and she forget her license at home...Then she called my friend (her son) collect...and he didn't accept...and she had to stay in there for 2 weeks

LOL! It's funny cuz accepting collect calls is dumb ;)

She had to stay in jail for two weeks because of speeding and didn't have her license on her? Not gonna happen. Murderers can get out in less time than that.

Collect is very stupid... I don't know how the hell they (the jails) are allowed to make deals with companies to only allow their collect calls.. It really pisses me off. It was $2.20 a minute for me! I had my calling card memorized too.. but nOOO I couldn't use it. I swear, I really should become a lawyer because that's just unfair that a person is forced to pay $22 for a 10-minute phone call when 35 cents gets it anywhere else.

Jails are totally unfair (I'm not talking about prisons - jails) for people that get held overnight for stupid charges that are brought against them... like if your girlfriend says you hit her, you go to jail for 24 hours, or if a passenger in your car is drinking and you don't even know it, or if a cop hates you and pulls you over on bogus charges ... It's the law - even if she calls and says she's lying.

Anyway... don't ask me why I was in jail. I'll just tell you this - I had to spend 24 of the longest, worst hours of my life so the system could handle problems that they did not allow my family and I to handle - even though we all agreed to handle it.

i dont believe it either. she would be arraigned (if she was held???) in a matter of only a couple days...
