Collateral Damage starring Arnold Schwarzenegger

I saw it, and I'd have to say it was a good movie for Arnold. Not much lines, plenty of action, and he gets to do the "NYAARRGHHH!!!" grunting sound often 🙂. If you enjoy Arnold movies for their nostalgic value, watch this by all means. "KROM!" 😛

I haven't seen it personally but I've heard that it isn't very good like most of Arnold's latest. The only reason he was able to scam a $30,000,000 salary for T3 is because they really couldn't do the movie and have it be successful without him.

Edit: Just to clarify, I still like most of Arnold's movies, even The Last Action Hero. Lately though they just don't leave me completely satisfied, like they could have been better. I'll probably end up seeing this one on DVD when the time comes. Hopefully T3 & True Lies 2 will rock.

T3 had better be worth it, after all I bought the T2: Ultimate Edition DVD (which kicks some major ass BTW esp if you have a kick ass sound system).

After LOTR #3 T3 will be the best movie of 2003.

Damit. None of his other movies are predictable! I just love arnie cause he owns 🙂

Arnold is just getting too soft in his movies. I don't know if its his age or he just got tired of being the tough guy...but man, Collateral Damage was the tamest from Arnold yet. He actually CRIED in the beginning. Arnold doesn't CRY like a wuss, no matter what happens...and why the hell was he a fireman and not a fireman who is an ex navy seal, trained in all kinds of stuff to kick a$$...heh

In all of the action scenes where arnold was actually fighthing, he was getting his the sh!t kicked out of him. A good movie for comparison to what C.D. should have been like is Commando. In commando, he just beat up everyone who gave him a problem. And in the end, they had a decent fight scene...let's just say that in C.D., arnold is getting romped on by a WOMAN!

I hope that Arnold is saving his best for T3...otherwise, we're going to see the 'care bear' of terminators... "I don't need to kill you, let's hug and be friends. I will show you my pog collection." bleh!

And how about a Predator 3??

<< The last good action movie he made was True Lies.

WTF? Are they really coming out with True Lies 2?
>>

Yep and I can't wait. Hopefully Arnold will redeem himself.

Nothing can ever beat Commando for classic Arnold

chick "What happend to Sully?"
Arnold "I let him go"

(He dropped Sully off a cliff for those that can't remember 🙂 )

Matrix: Remember, Sully, when I promised to kill you last?
Sully: That's right, Matrix. You did!
Matrix: I lied.

To cross post my Quick Review from SWF here...here goes! 😀

Quick synopsis:
Arnie loses his family in a bombing aimed to stop U.S. meddling in Columbia. Arnie no like. Arnie go whup ass.

Quick review:
Damn it, Arnie is a firefighter with no combat experience! He holds a gun for approximately 2.9 seconds in the movie. However, Arnie does use a variety of axes in his campaign.

There's some fun in watching a coordinated U.S. heli strike on a rebel fortress. Helicopters are cool. Arnie also talks to a randy Canadian for a while in the movie. Canadians are cool. Otherwise...umm, lots of running?

To be serious for a moment, the one thing Collateral Damage does fairly well is show that there is no black and white in fighting terrorism - everybody has their reasons for what they do. In the end, realistically, only the smartest, strongest, and luckiest survive.

Quick recommendation:
You're not missing much by passing this one up. If extremely bored, consider it as a rental.
