‎"Not only am I uncomfortable with what Governor Romney is proposing for his economic plan, I have concerns about his views on foreign policy. The Governor who was speaking on Monday night at the debate was saying things that were quite different from what he said earlier, so I'm not quite sure which Governor Romney we'd be getting in respect to foreign policy." - Colin Powell

There's more in the clip, but it's a pretty damning statement from a guy that knows a thing or two about foreign policy and our military.

While I'm sure those on the right will rip Powell for being a RINO or whatever his reasoning is quite valid. Romney has done a complete 180 from the positions he held during the primary. I am having a hard time understanding how he has the support he does. We all knew he would have to back off the extreme stances he took to win the primaries but this is just ridiculous at this point.

Does Powell even claim to be a republican? I don't think he is even a RINO, he is a flat-out democrat. So news story is black democrat endorses Obama. Big whoop.

Given that he was a moderate Republican, and that "Republican" now only means inbred, uneducated, racist, mindless Conservative Talk -parroting idiot; yes, he is a Democrat.

Wow, way to play the race card.

If a white Democrat endorsed Romney would you say "It must be because they're both white"?

That is an awfully cavalier and disrespectful way of nullifying the accomplishments of a man who has had a remarkable career serving his country, just because you disagree with his politics. I find this contemptible behavior on your part.

False dichotomy alert.

I doubt Powell will swing many voters, but it's still pretty damning for someone like him to point out publicly that Romney is a fraud.

LOL at Republicans attacking their own when they go against the party line. Keep this up and there will be more and more deserters from the Republican party. Ultimately forcing the moderates out of their party so that they can swing more to the right will hinder them more than it will help them.

He already showed his true colors back in the 2008 election, who cares what he has to say?

I disagree. You only think it is damning because Powell worked for the Bush administration, but he was always a liberal. Think of it this way: when Juan Williams criticisms Romney, that is not more damning to Romney just because Juan works for Fox News. It just shows that republicans are more willing to reach across the isle, even when they get stabbed in the back repeatedly.

No, I think it is damning because it is rare for a statesman like Powell to be so blunt in pointing out that someone is a phony. He sure didn't do that with McCain.

And because -- despite you and your friends whistling past the graveyard -- a lot of people respect what Powell has to say.

So, you don't care about a man who has spent decades serving his country and been served under Republican Presidents as CJCS, National Security Advisor and Secretary of State, just because he endorsed a Democrat for President? Are you not willing even to factor in that in the past he has campaigned for McCain and George W. Bush?

You have just made your partisan hack colors abundantly clear. You should be ashamed of yourself.

So you are good with his presentation in front on the U.N. security council in 2003?

If you are attacking Powell, listening to that clip, what did you disagree with him on?

While I very much appreciate his service the country in many different capacities (the guy has a distinguished career), that doesn't mean I have to care about his opinion as far as the presidential election, especially in light of the fact that he's already shown previously that his judgement in that area is terrible (he endorsed obummer previously).

Are you not willing even to factor in that in the past he has campaigned for McCain and George W. Bush?

I should be ashamed of myself because I don't care about the opinion of someone who endorses a guy I think pretty much embodies the worst things in politics and for the country? Really? :D :D

I didn't attack Powell, it's just that his opinion on the election (the two candidates) means absolutely nothing. Listening to that clip, he's pretty much entirely wrong.

This. It's really sad that what the far right is trying to instrument a "real Republican" to essentially amount to this stupidity

What is he wrong about? Please be specific.
