no biggie... ACLU (and similar organizations) sells US secrets for free and without prosecution. US security and its secrets are at more risks from its inner left wing nutcases than from its external enemies.

Cold War II would require a nation that has a chance. At least the former Soviet Union for as inefficient as it was did have an economy that was somewhat close. Russia isnt even close. Cold War II will probably be fought between China and the United States.

Everyone spies on everyone else, very little is secret, and why should we be amazed that Russia is spying on use and we are spying on the Russians.

There are more spies now than ever. Why would people think the end of the cold war meant the end of spying?

This. Although Russia still has a strong military, its economy is in ruins and all levels of government are infested with corruption. By itself, it is not a major opponent.

On the other hand, China is well-organized, the leadership is very intelligent and strong-willed, its economy is booming, the military is strong, and their population is many times the size of ours. China is a real threat to our position in the world.

You mean the leaders of our country and ANY countries don't do their homework by constantly sizing up everyone else? You don't think they have Plan B, C, & D ready at all times?

You think we just react on 'HuRrRrRrrr' basis?

Why do you think US has mega military stations in Hawaii, Japan, Korea and major networks in SE Asia seas? Everyone does their homework.

Politicians made be dumbasses, but military do their shit. What do you think Pentagon does all day everyday?

China is not a threat. The Chinese government are way too intelligent to fight the USA. It is not that they are not able, but doing business makes them more money. The Chinese have no need to fight. To be honest, i think the Chinese are going to be a big force to push technology in general forward. The Chinese are willing and able to invest into new technologies while here in the west, a few 100 rich scam artists destroy unknowingly because of their greed the western advantage in technology. In 50 years, China will have the upper hand. India has a big chance but, i am not sure what to think. They are willing, but maybe in the wrong way, wanting to much the western Ayn Rand free market, i think. The Chinese government are smart, and look very carefully where the western world makes the mistakes. However, human nature is human nature. Sooner or later when China reaches it's peak, it will fail for the same reason every society fails. To much decadence and arrogance forthcoming from greed and not appreciating the wealth and the luxury already present is what will happen. And the will to work hard together for a future, a future that disappears when the decadent mind starts. But i hope i am wrong.
I really do.
