My heat isn't working
I picked the lock into the heating room to check the water heater pilot and all is well...I think I might have figured out my problem , but need a confirmation before I 'throw the switch'
There are two lines going from the water heater to the coil/blower unit thingy that pumps my heat...a cold (return) and a hot (circulate)...both lines have a large shut-off valve about 6" from where the lines connect to the water heater. The cold valve is open, but the hot is closed for some reason...I do, however, have really hot water all through the house, but again, no heat whatsoever...not much documentation on the heater, so I am not sure, but I think the hot line should be open, too...to send hot water from the water heater to the coils in the blower to spit out some heat throughout the house...
I've been downtown drinking tonight, so a bit scared to just open that bad-boy wide open...keep picturing the water heater blowing up from some kind of back pressure
Anyway, you guys have any input on this one? Shouldn't both valves be open?
