Cold cathode / UV

lumen

I didn't realize there was a differance, I though all cold cathodes were UV, is this not the case? If they are different, how hot do UV lights run? And where can you get them, I haven't seen a seperate listing for UV lights anywhere.

UV is just the color, just like there are blue and red and white and purple cold cathodes, there are UV cold cathodes as well.

Yes, that's what I was asking, whether it was a color or... something else, because from what I knew UV lights were purple only, I thought maybe I missed some kind of revolution where they could make other color UV lights... that makes a lot more sense.

Probably didn't word the question quite right, anyway, thanks for the replies.

As I understand it, cold cathode is just a light technology - it can be made into any color needed. White ones have been used in scanners for quite some time now; they're just being made to emit different wavelengths these days for other applications.
