Cold cathode questions

I'm looking to buy this cold cathode tube. It has nothing but the tube and I was wondering if it was possible if I could connect it to my PSU spending less than 5 bucks on materials. Also, does this cold cathode provide enough light to light up a Antec SX1030B or would I need this one?

You need an inverter... otherwise there is no way to do it. Also, I would go with the dual kits from SVC... their single kits are plain trash. Get a dual kit with an extra bulb, it will be plenty bright.

like MacBlaine said.. you need an inverter to connect your cahtode <-> PSU. btw, your antec psu should not have any trouble powering up the CC lights.

Would the $10.99 Cold Cathode be enough or would I need the $14.99 Cold cathode to light up my case? I know MacBaine said two of the new cold cathodes would be "plenty bright," but I'm not exactly looking for it to be blinding, I just want a light. If only having one cold cathode is severely not adequate than I will get two but I want to know if I can get away with only one cold cathode.

I'd suggest the newer version. The newer one is $4 more but worth it, it's brighter and you can later add a second cathode if you wish. And yes, one of those will light a case very well. 😉
