I just built a pc with a lian li pc 65 (with window) and an Epox 8kha+ mobo. When I turn it on, I can clearly see the bright red lcd display. I was thinking about getting a cold cathode, but now im thinking that if I get anything but red its going to look stupid. Any idea at all? Anyone know if most red cathodes match the mobo lcd color?

you mean the LED right? the hard drive activity indicator.

i have the exact same case, and a blue cold cathode, the red looks the same with the cathode on or off, as the led area is fairly isolated from the rest of the case space, especially if you have a couple hard drives in the rack.

ive got it mounted on the top are where the ps is, just above the window (parallel to the top of the window) and it looks very nice.

Actually I think he's referring to the post code indicator on the 8kha+. It has a 2 character LED display on the lower right hand side of the board. It tells you the status of the board and can help in debugging.
It is fairly bright.

It doesn't look stupid. :) I have that exact same setup with a Blue CC lying along the bottom edge of the case (and a pink one along the back side but it doesn't look as good). The cathodes really overpower the red LCD post code.

If you aren't satisfied you can always disable or cover up the post code display somehow.

Yeah, I am talking about post code indicator. Thanks for the input gaidin, I think I'll be purchasing a cathode soon.
