Coke kept making a big deal about changing the formula. Pepsi changes with fluctuations in commodity prices. "It's brown, it's got bubbles; bottle it up and get it on the shelves."

No way any normal person wouldn't be able to tell the difference between regular Coke and Pepsi. I haven't had Pepsi or any soda in a long time, but it does taste more like a diet soda. Coke has that rich, bubbly taste. Pepsi is more syrupy.

I guess I'm a hippie who mostly drinks water/tea/coffee.

That said, my preference is Mexican made Fanta in a glass bottle > Mexican made Coke in a glass bottle > anything else. If I drink soda it's typically Mexican Fanta because it doesn't have caffeine so I can drink it in the evening, Mexican Coke is my next preference as I just can't drink regular over the top sweet HFCS sodas.

I'd take that bet each and every day. I can even ID most of them by smell.

My expertise is limited to these as I only drink diet and generally only colas - Diet Dew on occasion but that's an obvious outlier in flavor:

Diet Coke
Coke Zero/Zero Sugar (I'll admit I probably can't tell these two apart they're nearly identical)
Diet Pepsi
Pepsi Zero Sugar (formerly Max)
Diet Dr Pepper (obviously, but I'll include it since I drink a lot of it too)

You can include the various cherry versions if you want but I'd still be able to ID them.

If you drink enough of it you know, and it annoys the fuck out of me - If I order a diet coke and you don't carry coke products you'd better tell me. Yes Diet Pepsi is probably acceptable, but just because I don't bitch doesn't mean I didn't notice. Diet RC is never acceptable. I'll switch to tea before I drink that shit.

And yes, the quantity of diet soda required to make me this familiar with these is astounding. Half a gallon a day minimum.

I'm not including diet soda as different products use different kinds of fake sugar and ingredients. Just the HFCS colas. Why do you drink that much diet soda btw? Seems like a weird addiction.
