coke machines should have temperature sensors in place so it can warn you if the beverage isn't cold

I agree. One of the few benefits to getting it out of a vending machine is that you can usually count on it being nice and cold.

It depends when the machine was last refilled. Half could be cold, half could be warm. My friend ran a vending machine business, he showed me how it would display out of stock and hold one of each can/bottle so that the first one sold once it was refilled would be cold. After that it's pot luck on the timing. Unless you have a refrigerated van/store room.

that just tells you the interior air temp, not the temp of the cokes themselves. the machine i just bought from said it was 37 degrees in there. the coke itself is room temp. it had just been refilled, obviously.

maybe there should be a warning on the scroll saying it had just been refilled?

I've never gotten a warm one out of a machine... I guess that would happen if it was entirely empty and then they refilled it. But it's not really feasible for them to tell you the inside temperature of the bottom can in each slot... how can they know the temperature in the can without the temperature outside the can screwing up the reading?

When you have a job you can't always leave to go to the store.

Even if you could, why spend 10 mintes, 20 cents in gas and a bit more in price just to feel up your drink before you buy it?

Thanks for playing.

Being tied to a tree while being eaten alive by wolves would be worse, just off the top of my head...
