Anyone use those? I just washed my car there today. My hood was covered in pollen residue from parking under a tree and I needed coins for laundry anyway. I think I've figured out how to best use their stuff. Instead of doing all their cheesy ass steps I do:
Low pressure pre-soak
High pressure soap
High pressure rinse

Then dry with a chamois.

I don't see the point of the foaming brush. Seems like the only good it can do is scratch your paint with dirt from other cars. And of course the Turtle "Wax" is useless, and the "spot free rinse" isn't spot free. So I can do it with about $3.

Btw, why doesn't water bead off my hood? Water beads on the whole car except the hood! Should I rewax it? I Just waxed the car the weekend before last.

Yeah, most of the "do-it-yourself" coin op features are suck. The foaming brush is good for tires/rocker panels but I always give it a blast with the high-pressure hose first. As for your hood, I think you could re-wax it if water isn't beading up. I like Rain Dance paste, but there are tons of great waxes on the market that will work well.

Yeah I know. I live in an apartment though :(.

That sucks. I am a little wary of blasting my car with high pressure water, but I have no proof that it causes any damage to the paint. I'm able to hand wash my cars so it's not really an issue.

Okay I will rewax. I have Meguiar's.

When I used those places I brought my own bucket and sponges. As long as the timer's running they don't care so I used that stuff rather than their scratchy-ass brushes.

I don't use them because birds take all the money and the owners cannot afford to keep them maintained so they trash your ride.

the sign next to the brush says to make sure its cleaned out before and after using it... i guess spray it with the high pressure gun? i don't think their wax does anything either.

i wonder if the rain-x wax works well? too bad it doesn't repel pollen... my car is silver so you can't see it from a right angle but from the front seats the hood looks yellow
