coffee substitute?

skim milk

Diamond Member
is there a similar substitute for coffee that will help me in the mornings?

I like coffee.. it's just that I'm looking for a healthier substitute.

oatmeal or papya(any fruit should be cool) work well for me to get the ole metabolism goin in the morning.

tea is good too...but I like tea anyways.

I quit coffee this year and replaced it with jasmine tea. I feel much better since doing so.

but don't they get bitter....
i haven't had a good jasmine tea that doesn't have a bitter aftertaste.

I always go for earl gray tea, though if you really want a boost in the morning go for Chai Tea, it's traditionally drank with milk and ALOT of sugar. That'll give you a bump in the morning.

White, green, and even Oolong won't give you much of a kick in the mornings. Get a decent black tea and drink a couple of cups (~16oz or so). That should be enough to get you going like a cup of coffee.

Green tea is supposed to be the healthiest.

Actually, white tea is overall the healthiest of tea as it's processed even less than green, but neither are suitable for any sort of kick in the mornings as their caffeine content is relatively low, white especially.

assuming coffee is bad. its not bad.

I have run the gamut of complete coffee addiction, (maybe not as much as Descartes 😛), I think that coffee is not bad for you in moderation.
I drink about 20 ozs a day or so, american coffee. The occasional espresso thrown in for kick. 🙂

Coffee is good.
I would imagine Diet Mountain Dew would give you similar kick however, don't expect it to taste nearly as good as real mountain dew or coffee.
