I'm actually thinking about getting this one. I think I saw it for $69 at Lowes.

To those of you with a Bunn, how much electricity does it use keeping the water hot for hours?

Thanks for the info, found some coffeebeans that got shoved to the back of my cubboard, will toss them.

Good reading on the different coffee makers.

I like Krups makers. Remember to use FILTERED WATER ONLY otherwise you'll end up ruining your machine (untreated tap water will leave deposits that will ruin the flavor and leave your coffee bitter.)

I've had several high-end coffee machines over the years including models from Krups, Braun, Cuisanart, Bunn (still have, but its in storage), these days I buy mid-range models & replace them when they start to get funky.
The most important things for good taste are (1) High quality coffee (2) Fresh filtered water (3) drinking the coffee within a few minutes of brewing it.

IIRC, they use something like 35 watts for the "Stay hot" heating element. Obviously, the main element uses more, and the warming plate uses some when it's on too. It's nice, 3 minutes from the time I pour in the water, until I have a carafe of hot coffee...

maybe, i just don't like how fast it cools with press process. and wtihout the paper filter you get the artery hardening chemicals, not worth it i say
