They put in a fancy schmancy thingey in my office where you select your flavor (they stocked about 10 different ones - hazelnut, french vanilla, hot chocolate, etc) and brew type (mocha, latte, etc)...cant remember the brand though....

Was better than K-cup because the machine actually disposed of the pod once it was done brewing....

Since I primarily work from home now, I gave up my office cube (anyone who didn't come to the office more than 3 days a week had an option to work remote and just have a bank of visitor cubes if you needed to come in) and don't get to use it anymore...

Ah yes, it was always back breaking labour to take those pods out and manually throw them in the garbage!

We got a Flavia. It's tastes drinkable but I am not a fan of how much unrecycleable trash it generates, and the fact that it involves pushing hot water through a plastic baggy. I still prefer to be paid more than company hiring a barista for me.

Coffee benefits in my current office consists of unlimited amounts of shitty ass folgers. So I'll pass.

Our training center has the super fancy commercial keurigs that dispose of the k cups for you and are directly plumbed to water. Those are nice.

My old office we had Green Mountain and an industrial brewer - that was pretty damn good.

The wife still uses the K-cups at work at her financial job.

We do not use them at home.

I wonder how reliable all these machines are. Our big keurig at work plugs up all the time with calcium deposits and the k-cups are a ripoff. I walk across the building to use the drip with my own ground beans and am able to pour into my Guy on a Buffalo mug that doesn't fit in keurigs.

We've got some kind of automated coffee machine hooked up to the water line at work. We get coffee delivered and brew it into carafes. I drink way too much of it.

we have 7 machines that have like 20 selections and grinds the beans as you make your selection on the touch screen. I dont like it, it takes a bit where i would rather just go up to a Bunn coffee pot sitting on a warmer and pour it in my mug.

Employees are welcome to use company electricity to run the employee provided coffee pot to cook the employee provided coffee and pour it into employee provided mugs. I assume that somewhere, late into the night, a bean counter is figuring out the appropriate cost to charge employees for the use of the company electricity and counter space for the coffee maker.

I'd probably accept salary entirely in coffee and coffee beans if it was good enough. :D

I'd even sing some oompa loompa-style songs for visitors, if needed...

I guess you work in the perfect office where everyone brews a fresh pot if they finish it, lunches are never stolen out of the break room fridge...However, in the real world, some dipshit is bound to leave their used pod in the machine....at least this way, you don't have to worry about that....

My coffee benefit is I brew it at home in a Bunn, and bring it in a thermos. If I worked in an office regularly, I'd bring in my own maker of some kind. Probably a French press, cause the people around here would be too lazy to use it, so no one would fuck with my stuff :^D

Interesting concept. Seems awfully expensive relative to just getting a Keurig machine or equivalent though.

Has anyone here ever worked as a coffee-getter? I imagine that it isn't a fun job, and that it makes you hate coffee.

Yep, we have Bun coffee makers. Our engineering VP springs for Starbucks coffee packs. We drink better than the marketing crew. :)

I am glad to see all these Art Majors(baristas) are finding work in Chicago ;)

We had the Flavia, but the boss liked the Keurig more, so thats what we got.
I would love a craft beer kegerator, but I don't ever see that happening.

We have an industrial coffee maker and I get to purchase whatever coffee I want for it. Its not awesome coffee but its definitely drinkable.

My old job had a keurig station with like 6 different kind of k-cups stacked.

The cheapass me would take some home daily.

I'm not a big coffee fan, but boy do I love higher-end coffee - absolutely delicious.

I always end up having to make coffee. I guess I've got the timing down right. I never liked the K-cup stuff and unless you get the bio-degradable or reusable kind, they generate a tremendous amount of waste. I do keep a back up french press at work just in case though.

That's what we have. Some food service contractor manages our water system and coffee and delivers the coffee supplies and provides the carafes and brewers.

The problem is that the carafes are never cleaned or switched out. I'd hate to see the sludge buildup in the bottom of one of those.

I used to have my own perk in my office that was fantastic, but it was such a pain in the ass to try to keep clean. Our office doesn't have a kitchenette which made it tough. So now I drink tea if i need a caffeine shot - for some reason we have a hot water dispenser.
