I use tap water because as far as I'm concerned, tap water and filtered water are the same. I know at the technical level I am wrong, however, they are both clear and they both taste exactly the same (as in, have no taste.)

It's less noticable with coffee in my opinion but there's still a metallic tang to the unfiltered stuff.

must just be your local water then. ive done both, and noticed no "scum" or difference in taste.
