Coerced birthcontrol shots for those on welfare legal?

JEDI

Lifer
an effective way to stop the next generation of people on welfare is birthcontrol shots for any girl/woman of child bearing age. also applies to those on social security disability.

1 shot every 3months, paid for by Medicaid.

now the problem is how to get them to the clinic?

stick: threaten to reduced their welfare $?
carrot: give them an extra $25 that month for getting the shot?

and no repurcussions to the doc if the girl does get pregnant since the shots are only 97% effective.

How about just make it so that if you are currently on welfare, you do not get any additional benefits for having more kids. That will solve the problem without resorting to Orwellian population control measures.

Does not work. People keep screwing so now instead of a FREE IPHONE to get your shot you have a new baby and no money cause gov cut you off. I know of a crack whore who now has five crack babies getting foster care. That seems unacceptable to me. I bet she would take an injection in return for more crack.

You realize that in general the same people that are adamantly against any kind of welfare are also against any kind of birth control. This idea is also pretty intrusive into the personal decisions of people's lives. Though the ones who claim to like small government actually prefer to be intrusive when it comes to women's bodies.

People on welfare don't have more kids to get more welfare. They have more kids because people don't stop fucking if they can help it. And cutting additional benefits isn't going to harm the parent, it's going to harm the child. And sure you could take away the kids of any parents on welfare, but one where would you put them all and two there are many parents on welfare who are legitimately trying not to be.

People on welfare shouldn't be having kids and they shouldn't be given incentives to have kids as well. Birthcontrol shots aren't a bad idea or make it clear to them if they have kids then the welfare gets taken away. Also start putting in more tougher requirements for work such as requiring them to look for jobs or volunteer.

Ideally welfare should be phased out over time but it won't happen.

Sounds good to me.

Screw civil rights and having control of what goes into our bodies. since this is for the greater good, why not.

I'm sure the Catholic Church will back this 100%.

I understand the idea that people should be financially responsible before bringing a child into the world, but the idea that the most fundamental point of life (reproduction) is tied to a person's financial situation seems absolutely abhorrent to me. "You're not rich enough to reproduce" is an idea that has no place outside of capitalist eugenics.

eliminating future gen of resource sucking people is not better???
explain?

It was called eugenics, and it has already been tried. The program was even upheld by the US supreme court.

Hitler modeled his eugenics program after the US.

Rather than forced birth control just offer two levels of benefits:

Regular benefits
Regular benefits + XX% if you go to a clinic and a Dr. signs off that you are using BC

Well why not? If there was no welfare, people who reproduced when they couldnt afford to would die, or their children would die.

And you know what, that is what happened in the old days. People considered their circumstances before starting families. Now, they dont, because they know someone will pick up the pieces.

So maybe if there was no one to pick up the pieces, people would be more careful when having kids.

Lol! Those good ol days of yours never existed.

People werent more responsible back then? Accidents happened, yes, but nobody WANTED to fall pregnant without the resources to support themselves. Yet that is what people do today, because they know welfare will pick up the check.

For the record I think it would be preferable to incentivize than punish. Already it is possible to get free birth control like condoms. Free shots are a natural extension of this and should be available. The only extra thing worth thinking about is someone's or whatever to get the shot. I know it significantly changes the dynamic though; if it gained momentum it could approach the point where welfare is even worse and poor people can only make ends meet by getting shots. Then u end up in the same situation as basically forcing poor people to not have kids.

Roman Catholics are for the welfare state, by and large, they tend to be more liberal than Protestants in that regard. So that causes the rest of your premise to fall apart. :\
