AMD athlon 2800+
1 GB ram
6800GT 128Mb

On system requirements lab my PC fails to meet minimum requirements. Just wondering if anyone has a similar rig and can give me any info as to how game plays. I would play only at lowest settings in 1024X768 resolution. Any opinions or advice appreciated. Thanks much guys.

It seems your processor doesn't meet the minimun and your video card doesn't have enough ram but I thought 6800GT's had 256MB ram???

Here are the minimums for the game:

Operating System Windows XP or Windows Vista
CPU Intel Pentium 4 3 GHz or AMD 64 3200+ processor
Memory 512 MB (1 GB for Vista)
Hard Drive Space 8 GB of free space
Graphics Hardware 256MB Nvidia GeForce 6600 or ATI Radeon X1600
Sound Hardware DirectX 9.0c compliant card

UH... Maybe. It would run like crap though, that is guaranteed.

Well, I guess that's what I'm looking to hear about...from users with similar systems though. To be clear, this is my bros system. It runs COD4 just fine, but I don't want him to open the box and install the game if it's not going to run @ 35+ FPS on those specs.

The video card is a 6800le with unlocked pipes and overclocked to higher than 6800gt speeds. I'm betting that the GPU memory shortage won't be an issue at such a low res, so it's really the processor that I'm concerned about. We've tried to OC it, but with no luck at all, so that's out of the question unfortunately.

Maybe someone should sticky that so we dont get so many of these threads.

We have already been to that site (mentioned it in the OP), but all it does is compare what you have to the recommended hardware for the particular game. That doesn't mean that you can't run it. I played Crysis on a 6600gt and a Pentium 4 2.8 with a 533Mhz FSB all the way through on all low settings. Did it suck at times? Yes, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't at all playable.

Anyway, thanks for the replies, anyone else care to chime in? Does W@W really need that much VRAM?

I think you should look at the site again.

I tried it once just for the hell of it with my Geforce 6100 integrated video on my old dual core box (3800x2 socket 939)... It was a slideshow even at the lowest resolution with everything on low, but it technically did load ....

I'm sure he'd be able to install and play it .... but can't say what kind of frame rate he should expect ...
