Sorry. Was general question, but...

Various hardware on various systems.

In one case: MSI motherboard, Promise FastTrack100, XP Pro SP2

Another case: Dell 5100 Laptop with internal wireless card, XP Home SP1

Replaced drivers, flashed bioses, reinstalled OS.

Have search MS KB and spoken to them live. Code 10 seems to be the catch-all error.

The last time I saw that error code was when I installed the WDM drivers on my 6800gt to see if in combo with new dets, by some weird chance I could get improved WMV HD playback and it did nothing of course :p The thing is, since my card doesn't support video in the WDM universal video capture driver gave a code 10 saying it couldn't start, which made sense given there is nothing to start to begin with ;) Perhaps you are seeing a similar issue? driver functions that aren't supported?

BT - both worked for awhile and no known changes took place. Possbile hardware failure, though they both respond at POST level.
