COD4 problem with 3870 x2

I have a problem with COD4 with ATI Catalyst 8.4 and 3870 x2. The dam game works with my friends Nvidia 9800 GTX and Vista so the dvd is allrite.

But when i try to start it up i get a blank black screen and the games background sound but not a thing further...!!! I tried to reinstall the ATI Catalyst and also tried a 2900 XT "Which WORKed"!!

My 3870 X2 has 841 Mhz Core/ SHaders and 1030 Memory!!!

Dumb down the ATI drivers. I find 8.4 meh, I stick with 8.2

That's what I'd wonder, too, BFG.

Stock speeds are 825/900, and the OC cards I've seen have speeds like 850/960........no memory speeds even approaching his 1030, which is probably the problem. The memory has been OC'd too far.

I have OCed it myself....
I will go to the stock speed and test COD4 again...!!
