As much as I would like to play it on PC, I've given up, as I grow tired of the hacks. It's so funny hearing myself say I would prefer it on consoles as I was a hardcore PC gamer up until last year. Between the PS, 360 and Wii, it would only get 5% of my gaming time, now it's 95% and 5% for PC. Haven't even bothered to turn on my gaming PC in the past 2-3 months.

The $60 PC price is old news. And they would have sold more if they were not still asking $50 for a new copy for the PS3/360. And $40 for the PC. I understand its still a highly played game, but with the sequel so close, its crazy asking that much for the game still.

Im getting it, and all other FPS' I can on the PC. Sure there are hackers, as they're anywhere. Pick a few favorite servers, that keep them out, and you're all set. From my experience there are more annoying trash talkers on the consoles. And PC's get mods and total conversions. Plus, I dont like paying for maps that should be free, which consoles have to do. $10, two or three separate times adds up. But money isnt the issue, its the principle of it. That, and I still hate the friggin' controller for shooters. I have BF 1943 for my PS3, but as soon as its out on the PC, Im done with it. There are pros/cons to each setup, I just prefer the PC for shooters. For sports games, driving games, adventure games... pretty much anything else I like them on the console better, most of the time.

PC GOTY version of Modern warfare is under $30 at GoGamer right now (48hr special), as is World at War.

Couple things here I don't agree with. One is that you say the hackers are everywhere. No they aren't very prevalent on consoles. Do they exist? Sure. But I've never seen one and I've played a lot of CoD4. Compare that to the computer shooters I've played and at least 25% of the games/servers I find have obvious hackers.
Second, paying for maps that should be free sucks... but consoles don't HAVE to do anything. You don't HAVE to pay for map packs. CoD4 only had one pack anyway, and one week they had a huge sale on it.
My biggest gripe about the console shooters right now is the inability to pick specific servers or even maps. You can pick the game type and that's it. You get a random map and if you don't like it, vote to skip or just drop from the game. TF2 on the 360 let you pick from a game list, so I know this is possible for the consoles to do.

Yeha, special. You walk into any B&M shop, and its $40 still. Even $30 is still crazy when MW2 is about to be out. They should be slashing prices on it, to promote the sales. Anyone who doesnt have it yet, isnt as inclined to buy it just before the second one comes out.

No, you dont have to pay for new maps. If you dont, when the server changes maps to one that you dont have, you're dropped. W@W has a map pack too, and L4D has a DLC that is about to come out, which is free for the PC, but $10 for the 360. Doesnt Gears of War 2 have a new DLC too? And GTA4? Anyways, paying when it should be free sucks.

eh, and why should they be slashing prices on cod4?
there is this little thing called supply and demand, and apparently at it's current price point, the demand is still great enough that they don't need to slash prices.
and why 'should' some DLC be free?
the entitlement some people have on here is ridiculous.

Console games can be hacked as well. I was on PS3 in a Team Deathmatch on Crash and there was a guy on my team flying around.

Cant you read? Obviously you dont care to. I just explained why. Because the devs want it to be free. MS&Sony are the ones charging for it. Maps/DLC are free for the PC in the games I listed, among others. I dont know how many more times I have to say this. Its not an entitlement, its what the devs want.
In many different types of products, when a new one comes out, the old one gets a price cut. Goes from cars to sneakers. I dont know the sales numbers on CoD4. It sure wouldnt hurt to get players who never played it, to get involved before the second one came out. As example: before Tribes Vengeance came out, they gave away Tribes 2 as a free download. Created a lot of hype and excitement. Some people who never played Tribes 2, did. And bought Vengeance. Still didnt sell well, sold better than it would have though.
But since you just like to try an argue with me, I guess Im not surprised.
And I dont know where they come up with the 14m number. This link shows 15m online players, in March. http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03...illion-online-players/ 11m for Xbox, and 4m for PS3. Doesnt say how many PC players.

you have a link to your bolded statement, where the devs claim they wanted it to be free on xbox360 and ps3?
and 'because its free on the pc' is not a valid reason why you tihnk the devs want it free on ps3 and xbox360.
you keep comparing the PC market to the console market, i do not understand why. they are very different.
