i've had that happen a few times too. just end it in task manager and try again. usually gets it working.

Change your graphics mode setting to DX7 and that will clear up and the fps will almost double. Of cource you lose a lot of the eyecandy but honestly I am not that impressed by all the extra eyecandy.

i loved the original UT but ever since they came out with the UT2k games i haven't liked it as much. for some reason i suck at CS even though i do fairly well in other fps games.
red orchestra is just too sim-like, i don't like how the weapon react in DOD. never liked farcry that much... so yeah, i'm pretty much out of luck until something new comes along.

what i really need is a mmorpg to satisfy me. hurry up Age of Conan!!!

oohh! i think thats the mod the server i've been playing on has and i really like it.

is it usually busy? how many people can it hold?

according to the server browser and the server info you don't have PB enabled.

It turns out that COD2 kept crashing because Punkbuster and NFAM (Nvidia Forceware Access Manager) have issues. I uninstalled NFAM and COD2 worked perfectly. Now for some overdue playing.

i finally got a longer response from the clan who runs the server i play on. they said they don't enable PB because they catch more people cheating themselves than PB can.

I left PB enabled to get those who have not updated thier hacks. I still watch people though because no sooner had PB been out then people were out there updating the hacks.

Still makes me wonder about that clan, why they took took so long to respond and why they did not really enabled it. But that is just me. If any one ever want to play death match with the AWE mod, let know me. I am always looking for a good game.

I remember the demo running great on my P4 2.8 and Radeon 9800 Pro at 1280x1024. How much more performance do you need?
