I don't have much good to say about this beta. Hopefully they change everything about the game before they release it.

IMO: the sounds are just terribad, the animations are 10 years old and the gameplay is so piss-poor that I can't help but think that the devs had their children (probably under age 12) work on this one for them.

Are they just pumping out games for revenue or are they really that bad?
 
I like it. The weapon balance seems much better than CoD4. In CoD4 you couldnt do anything with a semi-auto against an auto. Its better in WaW atleast.
 
olds, its a known bug ... just download the newest DirectX9.c websetup.exe distributable from MS website to fix it. Yea, I know .. you shouldn't need DX9 if you are running a DX10 PC, but its a bug.

Personally I won't be buying it, and I haven't even played the demo. The WW2 FPS genre is a dead horse, hell I would even say that its dogfood already.
 
I played the Beta, what a letdown.

First of all, apparently the developer didn't do anything to the engine. All the menus are the same and the shitty server browser is still there. The ranking system is the same, creating classes is the same. I mean, it IS Call of Duty 4 with some WW2 mod installed.

Vista comes with DX9 and DX10 installed. I am uncertain which DX9 Redistributable Vista ships with, but it does ship with some version of DX9 installed.

FYI, the latest DX9 redistributable is August 2008.

 
I like it all so far, except for the sound. The sound is just terrible. You can't hear anyone around you, unless they are running. Other then that though, I do like how its more balanced and seems more fair. The only thing I wish they would of left off, is the martyrdom perk.... I hate it with a passion.

Yea, sound sucked a bit. Nothing like having the voice of Jack Bauer on your side during the heat of battle 🙂
 
There is one voice, that I swear is Bam Margera. He says something like "In your face" or something like that, then he says "Your down for the count". Sounds just like Bam
 
I liked the voices.. but i didnt see anything wrong with the sound in general. Its not accurate, but its still fun.

Plus, they got the gunny doing the promotion voice. Epic win

Did you not read the post above you? He said the Gunny is in it. That alone makes the game a 10/10
