<<Weren't Isaiah and the rest of the 80's Pistons pretty bad at trash-talking too? >>
yup you got it. they did a special on isaiah thomas. basically his rule was to win ANYWAY you can, which means being physical if you have to. he influenced the entire team and basically they were probably one of the most physical team in the NBA, that is until thomas got knocked down by malone (i think) and needed 10+ stitches to stop the bleeding.
<<Trash talking is one thing but chocking coaches and hitting refs is another. In any other job you would be arrested, fired and sewed. But in the NBA today they are protected and they know it so they just keep pushing the boundies more.. (well except the 3 point line ) >>
I don't recall anybody ever hitting a ref or any two players getting to the point of being able to throw punches that land. most of the time, fights are broken before they get past the initial grabbing. and players ARE fined.
<<If you talk about great players that are not cocky, somebody mention John Stockton.
If anyone disagrees that he is a great player, just look at the numbers.
All time leader in assists and steals. >>
yes john stockton has my respect. he rarely whines like most other players do when they get caught.
<<Reggie Miller's cocky but he's backed it up time and time again. Same as Michael Jordan, Gary Payton, Allen Iverson, and even *ugh* Kobe Bryant.>>
reggie miller has nothing to be cocky about. he's a whiny lil bitch. back when the lakers whooped their ass in the finals, miller had the audacity to comment on how kobe and shaq are so greedy that they cannot be content with what they got but want more. WTF? all reggie does is whine whine whine when he doesn't get his way. he should really carry that chalk powder with him or something so he doesn't have to go to the table to get it every frickin' minute
btw, how can you guys forget to add vlade divac to the list? he had the balls to say utah is suck but yet his team is struggling to get a win.
