NOPE, just saw it on The Discovery Channel the other night. the English began it back in WW II as a way of pain free cleaning of wounds. After 24 hours, the little critters are removed, and depending on if the dead tissue is fully removed or not, they might put on another batch. It is becoming common practice over here to in many private hospitals.

No, AFAIK they don't like the hot and dry here in Utah.

Actually, hot and dry places like AZ (Utah is more like "lukewarm and dry") have a really big cockroach problem.

In the northern part of the country, cockroaches only pose a problem for folks who live in big apartment buildings, because if even if you get rid of yours, your neighbor might not do the same, and those little critters will be back the next day :)

I thought it went to feed the members of the KKK, It's the best way to tenderize meat for the toothles, inbred, ill educated hicks.

Back in about '73 or so, I stayed with an acquaintence of mine out of necessity (I hesitate to call him friend). At night, if you would happen to go out to the kitchen (there was paneling nailed to the plaster walls...) and turn on the light, hundreds of 'roaches would scatter, heading for behind the paneling, and safety. I hate 'em, I hate 'em, I hate 'em!!!!!!!!! I've been plenty of places that had 'roach problems, but that was, by far, the worse.....:( Thank God we don't have any where we live now. -kd5-
