LOL, I remember seeing a news story of an old women who made opium from her flower garden (mini poppy field).

Police estimated that the field could have produced up to a pound of heroin..

yeah raw opium is kind of a mess and to get clean morphine product from it probably does require some effort in processing. Not sure what goes into it, but the raw product is far from 'clean'.

There are other compounds in raw opium, but that doesn't change the fact that it contains 10-16% morphine and 0.1-2% codeine.

It would take some chemical processing to make each drug pure, ie: separate it from the base and other alkaloids, but yeah. Morphine is the main alkaloid in opium gum.
