Cocaine can cause death...
Well, pretty much the only recreational drug that won't kill you is LSD. You'll go completely insane, but you can't OD, IIRC.
It wont directly kill you, but the sh!t you'll do while tripping might.

Well, I may get flak for this but whatever, alcohol is technically more addictive and dangerous than most illegal drugs. You can stop cold fish from those drugs, and just get really sick, but will live; however, with alcohol, if you are a drunk (drink until drunk day after day, etc...) and stop cold fish, you will die from the sudden dramatic increase in brain activity.Originally posted by: Gurck
Thought it'd be interesting to mention that alcohol is relatively easy to fatally od on - I've read that about 5,000 people do it annually in the US alone.

hmm.
im pretty sure marijuana wont kill you at least not in the short term. long term usage, sure i will give that to you.
you cannot OD on marijuana in the same way as heroin or cocaine that would cause death.
and i can see LSD killing someone. if you give them enough LSD, i almost guarantee it could kill a person, probably from a heart attack.

agree, in the short run it may not kill you but in the long run it can as someone will stop eatting completely. causes brain damage, memory loss, axiety, and mood swing from happy to mad, to nervous to insanityOriginally posted by: DrNoobie
Cocaine can be fatal to all people, regardless of capillary size.![]()

I said alcoholic (or at least implied it by saying drunk). Take the pot/cocaine/crack/LSD/whatever away from the drug user, they get really sick; take the alcohol away from an alcoholic, and they have a much higher chance of dying.Originally posted by: RobCur

as for small capillaries, everyone has the same size capillaries. one red cell in width. your friend most likely misunderstood his doctor.
In humans, capillary lumens range from 4-9 microns in size, with the average being 8 microns. The minium lumen size necessary to prevent plugging of a red blood cell is 2.3 microns as reported in "Section 2: Cardiovascular System," in Best and Taylor's Physiological Basis of Medical Practice.

But the heroin addict will recover. An alcoholic quitting cold fish will most likely die from the increase in brain activity.Originally posted by: Gurck

There're no physical withdrawl symptoms associated with pot, as it's not a physically addicitve drug in the first place. Many other drugs, nicotine, alcohol, and heroin among them, are chemically addictive. Pot is as addictive as anything else you do for pleasure; reading, watching tv, browsing ATOT, etc.
Edit: the physical withdrawl symptoms associated with heroin are probably the worst out there. The shakes and extreme nausea are common and withdrawl can be fatal. Haven't you see The Basketball Diaries?![]()
