This is really sad, she's a model student in school too.

Supposely, the SUV ran the red-light, but there were many factors such as kids shouldn't be out that late driving without a license. both girls telling the parents they're going to spent the night at the other's house.

Its bad and sad story but I'm gonna say it, Darwinism at work...

Lesson One: Don't lie

Lesson Two: Don't steal cars

thats sad but they also made a bad choice

does that mean you have less compassion for them than if e.g., an adult had been driving?

No I am saying its a bad choice regardless of their age be it a teenager, adult, elderly

Very sad. It happens all the time. I've actually heard rumors about the legal driving age being increased to 18 if the laws pass. There have been too many accidents caused by teenage drivers between 15-17. I know that change in the law wouldn't have helped them, but it's something to watch for in the next 5-10 years.

Yes it is sad, but I don't think that should mean anyone should feel bashful about saying they were completely in the wrong.

No mentions of drugs/alcohol.... other than sex (and looking at that guy, naaaah) what else would make 4 kids think "let us steal a family members car and go joyriding"

Yes it is saddening to hear of the loss of human life, but it is also saddening that 4 children were stupid enough to do something like that. If they were playing computer games, this never would have happened. GTA or some 4player FPS could have saved their lives. Hello again to the pang of bitter irony.

Ugh everyone was 14 once some of these people are just reaching the milestone, but heck yet 2AM to take the freakin car? What is bloody wrong with them?

Not only it is stupid of them to do it, but I'm quite surprised that the parents didn't hear them leave, or hear the motor start. Yes it is a tragedy, so are these 16 year olds who can't even control a car and say well I got a license so I could drive however I want end up dead.

There should be stricter rules and until that happens kids who do stupid decisions will end up getting hurt or even worse killed.

It'll never happen. The economy relies too heavily on young workers.

Sad. I wouldn't call it a tragedy by any means, because these kids made an extremely dumb decision. But sad for the parents for sure.

Sometimes these things have a good effect on the city. It took a drunk driving crash involving "beloved" students (that were skipping class) to get some of the bad kids in our town to stop drinking and driving.

thats very sad. all teenagers experiment and all teenagers make mistakes in judgement, its called growing up. unfortunately they payed a very steep price for their mistake.

or learn about compassion

I have compassion for innocent people who die, not for someone who was breaking the law.

Sliding glass door and rolling the car down the street before starting the engine. That is how I used to do it anyway.
