You could get the office together and do something for them. A very similar thing happened to me a few years ago, when my father passed away at work. They bought a tree (one of the ones in the parks, with a plaque and whatnot) in his name since he was an avid treelover.

The boss of my best friend died recently in a motorcycle accident. Heard he was thrown off his bike on the freeway. He was only 24 or something. Their office actually closed on the day of his funeral.

While our office is very caring that way, there's 3000 employee's...

I'm sure they wont be closing down the office... 🙁 I'm still going to attend the funeral though...

It reminds you to not complain about the little things. You can go at any time. Sounds like a crappy situation.

Yeah for sure... Really made me think...

Sometimes you lose sight of the fact that you can be gone at any time... Tell the people you love that you do, because you might not have the chance again...

Yep. On August 26 of last year, my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep from heart arrythmia. He was 46--I was 16 at the time, 17 now.

You just never know with this crazy thing we call life...

Sorry to hear, my condolences to you and his family.

I've lost two co-workers over the years that were both in their 40s.

Both were from genetic heart defects.

Thanks everyone...

It wouldn't be so weird if it didn't happen at work... while we were all working...

I know that doesn't sound right, but really...
