What if her arrest is the result of he being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

I love this cop out excuse. If you are caught anywere with drugs at anytime it is YOUR fault.

I know you are on some sort of anti-drug crusade but wrong place at the wrong time does factor in sometimes. A friend of mine got nailed with a possesion charge because one of his other dumbass friends had a small bag of weed on him (my friend was being nice and just giving the guy a ride home).

Your friend should have chosen his friends better. That's what the cop probably said, too.

If she was arrested, I have to assume she won't be in to work tomorrow..

You could fire her for missed days/lack of attendance.

If you have the probationary warning on file, and she signed it in front of a witness, you can fire her for looking at the ceiling too much.

Also - she's a cokehead - she probably isn't smart enough or inclined to put forth a losing attempt at sueing after the fact.

Bingo....hanging out with drug losers makes you one too. Chose your friends wisely.

Remind me to cavity search my friend who occasionally gets high when I pick him up at the airport next time...

Well, if you get busted because he is carrying then it is your fault since you are aware of the possibilities of him having it in his possession and still choose to let him in your car....at that point you have made the choice of possession yourself in the eyes of the law and will suffer the consequences if caught.

IS this concept so hard to understand?

..thus the virtue of a drug testing program. Pre-employment and random/post accident/incident. And why insurance companies off steep discounts to employeers to encourage drug testing.

How is the view up there on the high horse?

We should all get crew cuts, where black suits and ties, and go around preaching conformity and blind adherence to the law.

Seig Heil!

By your logic, Rosa Parks should still be in jail...

The owner is reading this and has decided to terminate her tomorrow (she does not know we are onto her), once a replacement gets here.

I know noone has asked for a link yet, but I will give it now before you guys do start asking 😉

her mug shot and booking report

Thats a bad move dude. Take down the link to her info. You have no right to do that.
Why not? It's public information.

the other information he has posted is NOT public information. It's in bad taste IMO o post an individuals public information to a site like this. Until she is proven guilty, she is still innocent legally, and he could be guilty of libel by connecting the two.

Libel? Huh?

who hired this person. they should be fired too. also, did the lady come in today?

the owner of the company hired her 4 years ago....

And the latest is, she came back from lunch, and we fired her right there on the spot.

She told us that she has been smoking for years and can stop when she wants. She agreed to take drug tests once a week, but that didn't help her keep her job. As of now she is no longer employed by us.

I just hope she gets the help she needs.

sorry if I offended anyone by posting the link to her PUBLIC arrest record.

I didn't think much about it when I posted it, seeing it is on an official PUBLIC government website.

I know she is innocent until proven guilty, just like it says on her PUBLIC arrest record.

Okay, how do you know she was doing drugs in the bathroom?

What if her arrest is the result of he being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Reading the police report that we obtained clearly indicates that she tried to speed away once she seen that she was being watched by a marked police unit.

She knew what she was doing and where she was at.

There are laws preventing her from being fired? I though in at will states the owner or whoever was in charge of personnel at the company could just walk down the aisle and randomly say to people you're fired and there was nothing the now ex-employees could do about it.

depends on the state. I don't think every state has an "at will" employment policy.

Even if the State was not an "at will" or "right to work" one show me proof that it would protect someone for being fired for illicit drug use if the company has an anti-drug policy in place. I don't even think they would need an anti-drug policy but if they do that is all the more reason for companies of any size to have one.
