The fact that you posted this is evidence that it did effect your ability to think, but as long as the grill is outside and not inside you'll be fine. ;)

just be sure to avoid more CO exposure, which can be lethal if you continue to breathe it. So hang out outside, hope its not cold where you are.

haha that's what i thought... but, apparently, i gave terrible advice... and based on the fact that my advice was pretty damn similar to yours, you gave terrible advice, too.

:thumbsdown::thumbsdown: for us :(

no doubt, ha. I wish people unfamiliar with medicine wouldnt post about things they dont understand. I heard a horror story crap doesnt cut it, but i guess thats what happens on internet forums. No offense to the EMT guy, I understand you are being safe, but hospital is unecessary in this instance. night all

/end thread.

Didn't realize it was from hovering over a grill. I am assuming it was atleast slightly well ventilated then. No offense taken. Just read a lot of people saying its fine you just need to walk it off. I know of people dieing from CO poisoning from faulty heaters and such. CO monitors are in basically every house in my neighborhood, and I've been on more then one call of SOB, nausea, dizziness, and syncope related to CO exposure.

the fact that he POSTED and was coherent and seemed aware of time, place, and date pretty much indicated that he wasn't in need of medical attention for co poisoning...

you're probably aware that if you've actually got co poisoning, you probably are out of breath, dizzy, etc and lying down... not crawling to the computer to log in, create a new thread, and ask atot what to do about it.

This is ATOT, people log on here to ask if they should wipe one time just to be safe.

I don't think you're going to make it.

On the plus side, you can give me your 7800GT. :D

yeah, you'll be fine. just drink some water and stay in a ventilated area... go out for a walk or something for a bit...

You are not allowed to use the stethoscope ava and give bad medical advice.

EMT's arnt allowed to give medical advice. IF you have a mild headach, get some fresh air for a while. If you start feeling sleepy and find you cant keep yourself awake, have someone take you to the er. Usually, a hour or two on a non-rebreather mask will do the trick. If your carboxyhemoglobin is so high you have to be in a hyperbaric chamber, well, it would have most likely been high enough to kill you.

To be fair, it doesn't sound like a severe case of CO poisoning (if that's even what it is, which certainly isn't proven), and simply taking the precaution of avoiding any further exposure would be sufficient.

However, CO poisoning symptoms are very vague - and if in doubt the correct thing to do is to go to the ER and get tested - meanwhile getting oxygen.

However, if the OP hasn't yet got a CO alarm, then he needs to get one stat. If the grill genuinely is producing CO, then it needs to be removed immediately, unless there is a clear code violation in the kitchen design that could have caused it (in which case the grill should be taken out of service, until the appropriate building modifications are made).
