Will disabling 'Cool N Quiet' in the bios be advantageous for me? I've only read the benefits for overclockers, but couldn't find any for regular users and/or moderate gamers.

I've also seen threads where CNQ is buggy for some, hence my reason to disable it.

My CPU is an Athlon II X2 250.

I oc the crap out of anything I get my hands on, needless to say C&Q is a life saver.
It allows you to jack up voltage without having to worry about the chip being way to over volted for nominal tasks that don't require the added voltage or overclock.

Never disable C&Q unless it's somehow making your system unstable or unusable. The down clocking and under volting features will add to the longevity of your CPU.
 
Its pretty old article. Most of the major board manufacturers have released a BIOS fix for that. Just visit your MB's website and confirm the fix.
