Gupta approached for surgeon general's post

Chief CNN medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta has been approached by the Obama administration about the U.S. surgeon general's post, according to sources inside the transition and at CNN.

so .. what are your thoughts? While he's been a great on-air medical correspondent for CNN... does he have what it takes to be the Surgeon General?

didn't he take a lot of flack from various journalist sources for assisting in an operation while embedded with the devil docs?

IT CANNOT HAPPEN.
THE THROBBING HARDON THAT CNN WILL GET WILL TAKE OUT HALF OF ATLANTA.

*turns a corner*

*RECALCULTING*

Gupta for S.G  😀

Sanjay Gupta

Sanjay Gupta (Hindi: ???? ??????), born October 23, 1969, is the Surgeon-General-Designate of the United States.

Apparently there are big nerd reps for the first guy who gets any big news story onto wikipedia first. The downside is that articles become very heavy on new information to a level of detail that isn't appropriate for the article. Like when Katrina hit, people put anything and everything into the article about New Orleans. That's why they started Wikinews.

Sanjay Gupta (Hindi: ???? ??????), born October 23, 1969, is expected to be the Surgeon-General nominee of the United States for President Barack Obama.[1]

He is apparently an accomplished neurosurgeon who can, obviously, present himself well to the public. Sounds like good qualifications to be nominated as the Surgeon General.

i'm sure the Off-Topic Mods (who have actually posted in this thread) woulda moved it if they felt it necessary. Since they didnt... how about MBody, mod-wannabe, go back to his nef-cave.

"....Gupta specializes in all facets of neurosurgical care with a strong interest in complicated spine....."

who is better? Gupta, or Jack(from Lost), or Derek(from Grey's anatomy)

Jeez who is second on the list, Dr. Oz?

Just coz you play a Dr on TV doesnt mean you really are one.

good point. someone should notify the staff of the president-elect immediately, they probably did no background check or anything...

he was part of an article published in a neuroscience journal, wiki says it without a citation, but google gets you to it quick.
