CNN's Anderson Cooper getting sued right now for "purposely reporting a false story" on the other hand.

And we all know people that get sued are usually in the wrong, liable, or guilty. You know it, I know it... everybody knows it!

I guess everywhere NBC/CBS/CNN/etc etc go we should just consider whatever they are covering as fake news.

The only REAL news is coming from Infowars/Breitbart/etc etc

am I right GOP?

edit: so the CNN explanation of the event is that everyone was cordoned off from the street for the safety of the public, including the news crews (multiple) and protesters (several)

The police allowed the protesters to stand on the other side of the police tape so that way the news crews (CNN et al) can capture the protesters behind the journalist during their filming.

Is it fake news? you decide. I think I side with the perspective that the news crews editorialized the environment in order to get the video they were looking for.

But this is different than saying the protesters didn't exist and were not on site at the time the news crews were there.IMO it doesn't rise to the level of breitbart/infowars fake news.

IMHO, the reporter had a duty to state that the protesters were invited over to the cameras. Something along the lines of, "CNN asked these protesters to speak with us on camera" would have covered it, making it clear that the shot was staged and not a gathering which CNN was passively reporting.

It's like when there is a flood and the water is knee deep, but the News person sits in a canoe for effect ....

It's shady bullshit, but it's not completely fabricated ...

THIS.

I see now that they are just arranging protesters to make it look like a larger or more active protest (most tend to be peaceful and kinda boring). Real protesters with a news outlet staging for effect. If FOX News was there, they would have filmed right next to the CNN cameraman. Nothing new.

Very common, just about every single new media outlet does this.
