If you're a journalist and you're helping out political candidates that your network covers without disclosing this to them that's unethical and CNN is right to discipline him.

As hal2kilo said, that's the sort of thing that Fox News and conservative media does. CNN is better than them.

Well, Fox News has done so much worse. Hannity not only appeared on stage with Trump at a rally, they were personal friends who had lunch together and talked on the phone frequently. But the key here is that Hannity commented on Trump all the time on his show. Cuomo never said a word about his brother on air. Objectivity can't be compromised on a topic you never address.

That last bit leans me toward Ajay's position here.

Accountability?
Fox News had Roger Ailes who was the worst time ever womanizer. And Roger Ailes is now gone. So answer me this, why do the Fox women still look like sluts waiting for horny sailors to get off the ship?

I was offering input onto a specific statement, not with some intention to derail a conversation, just to highlight a difference that should be taken into account. I never stated it had anything to do with the thread's subject specifically regarding Chris and Andrew.
You highlighted a difference that has nothing to do with unconditional love and support. So you are now trying to argue about you not mentioning Chris and Andrew because I brought it up in my response.. You really need to man up, admit you don't know what you are talking about, rather than changing the argument to you never said anything about Andrew and Chris.

Now, After I slept, and thought about what you said a little more, I realized your "difference" isn't just about sanity and mental competencies, it's also symptoms of someone being controlled and living in fear if they support toxic behavior in the sense you are trying to argue. Again, nothing to do with unconditional love or support and completely different.

If Fox News fired its on air talent for dirtbag behavior, they'd have to shut the entire operation down.

As they should.
Well, we really don't know the full details, just what we are spoon fed.. The question is, where do you draw the line being a brother and loyalty to the company you work for? If we have come to the point that corporations have so much control of our society that a person can't even be a brother, then we have even deeper and more serious problems that we realize. I am not saying how far Chris was involved, or what all he did was right or wrong, but it's something to think about.

I actually watch the cable news networks, all of them. Chris Cuomo brought his brother on as a regular guest on his Cuomo Prime Time Show. People complained that it was unethical because it was free air time. As Chris Cuomo says, he is my brother and I love him. When Covid hit he had Andrew Cuomo on almost weekly to update America on Covid.

This was long before the governors scandal. At first they said Andrew Cuomo ruled with an iron fist and was a bully. That didn't work and then came the women. What Chris Cuomo did during that time is just bonkers. Doing research, quarterbacking his brothers defense all while doing his show. He would come on air saying I know nothing about my brothers situation but CNN said I can't talk about my brother anymore.

The stance of he is my brother and I love him. Not just words, Chris was his point man on discrediting all of those women in strategy sessions. Chris is the man of the people and for women's rights, lol. Chris said he supports his brother but completely left out their strategy sessions. He used his media sources to prepare for more disclosures. He portrayed himself as the good little brother just doing his show on CNN. He implied he has nothing to do with his brothers troubles as governor.

Credibility is lost when you are not honest with the viewers. Cable TV has gone from reporting the news to both making and being the news. There is a place for teleprompters but when they have opinion journalism reading directly from a teleprompter. That is not news, it's puppets reading propaganda.

But this is by far NOT the worst thing of ALL the news networks. And you know which one I am talking about.

Must be a bunch of only children here.

Brothers help each other, regardless.

Are other liberals 'brothers' to you?

No, but my two kid brothers are brothers to me.

In case you haven't been keeping up with current events, Chris is actually Andy's little brother. Their dad was Mario.

He can certainly be a brother, and I think Chris would be the first to say family comes first. CNN isn't saying he can't be a brother, they're saying don't use sources you've cultivated/managed/maintained under our umbrella for family gain, particularly without disclosing it. That's pretty reasonable. Chris mixed too much business with family. Is what it is.

I have 400,000 brothers.
Most of them are dickheads. Theres maybe 5 or 6 I would help out in a bad situation.
