Last night NBC Evening News reported that some colleges have topped $51,000/year for undergraduate tuition. So, one of those degrees would cost over $204,000 + 4 years of living expenses. Wow!

Anyone paying that is foolish IMO, even if it is an Ivy League degree. I can't think of any undergrad degree remotely worth that much money.

It's totally ridiculous. I would assume that almost all of the students come from wealthy families with connections that can place them into worthwhile jobs.

I work with a lady, middle class (well, she drives a Cavalier, I believe) and she was talking about her college age son or daughter and they're now trying to figure out where to go. It seemed like she was ready and willing to spend huge amounts of money ($100k+) on this person's education if they chose an expensive school, and I certainly got no impression their 529 balance was that high. I wouldn't do it that's for sure.
