Cnet: Are Mac users smarter?

Well if you look at the stats it's a pretty clear case of misrepresentative quantitative results. This comes up alot in psychology studies and the like, I can't believe the article includes nothing but what the report says, it's disturbing. Come on, 70% of mac users have a college degree while only 58% of PC users do, yet only 8.9% of webusers are mac users and 89% are PC users. This is insane, of course you're going to get results like that, look at the average number of users. You'll obviously get a dilution of the # of college degree holders with PCs because more people use them, hence there is a greater chance that not everyone will have a degree. THE ONLY CORRELATION THAT THE GIVEN STATICSTICS IN THIS ARTICLE POINT TO IS THAT 90% OF PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY USE PCs, perhaps because of price/performance, OH NO, maybe because of price/availibility of software and ability to upgrade

When you brag loudly and long enough you start to beleive yourself, and others tend to ignore you or get irritated. That statement "mac users are generally better educated" has irritated me, I will use my college education to write my thoughts on My windows based IBM system..."What a bunch of crap"


I was recently associated with a PHD [piled higher and deeper] "just in his case" who thought like that "arrogant so#" who is now gone his own way to other pastures spurting that arrogance like a Cancer errr diarhea, and we are left cleaning up his mess.

I agree with n0c on this one .. 100% .. generalizations are weak.. oh wait, I don't agree 100% .. maybe 95% .. cause all commercials piss me off .. all of em.

Ahh, so thats why the name seemed familiar... I stopped reading that comic a while ago, too many better ones (Im not a gamer so much of their humor is lost on me)

I have talked to too many MCSE's that think they know what they are doing but are *greatly* mistaken to believe that all x86 users (Macs are still PCs) will admit when they dont understand something.
