every day i turn on my computer, i have to go into the BIOS settings and set it up again. it keeps forgetting the settings. sometimes it will remember and sometimes i have to set it up again

im thinking it might be the cmos battery but that's just a guess as i've never dealt with this problem before

anyone know anything about how to fix this before i go drive 15 miles to fry's later today (it's been going on for months now but ive been too lazy to fix it :p )

thanks :)

edit:

Yeah one of our PC's at work did the same thing.... Kept resetting the FSB everytime it was powered down for more than a few minutes.

Turns out the battery wasn't holding a charge. Pop another one in if you have it. Good luck.

Get a new battery. Go with a name brand cell as they hold up much better. Duracell, Maxell, Sony, Panasonic, Eveready etc.
