Cmos checksum error on older Soyo

Setting up this older soyo v6be+ board and running into checksum errors occasionally. Its running a stable overclocked C2 but it sometimes hangs up then on reboot, resets itself including the date. My other boards dont reset the date. I was thinking a battery problem and swapped it out but no change.
Anyone use these boards or can point me somewhere with more info.
Its just irritating to reset everything and I missed the date reset a few times which goes over to file dating problems loading software.

If the battery that you swapped in was good, then you probably need a new BIOS chip. Badflash.com can probably provide one, or maybe Soyo direct.

Battery's good and I reflashed the bios to latest without problem. When its left for a few hours, the bios settings disappear and defaults come up. When I got it there was a small bit of damage to the clear cmos jumper right beside the battery. The pins were bent over so gonna disconnect and try new jumper. Nice mb otherwise.

Tried new jumper but still no change. Dont know if its worth the 25usd for a new chip if that's not the problem. Anything else I can try?
