CM Stacker cooling....which fans (specific) should i use?

i'm building a computer in the next couple of days and would like to know specifically which fans on the market are best suited for me. i'm not looking for ultra quiet...just a great balance. thanks for any help guys.

Build:

CMStacker
AMD (not sure of size yet, 3200+ most likely)
Powerstream 520
DFI NF4 SLI
2x512 PC3200 Value
undecided video card

That sounds exactly like the computer I want to build! Except I will be building mine in June, where I hope vid card prices have gone down ~50 bucks at least 🙂

Go with multiple quiet fans. The Stacker is so large -- I'm sitting next to one -- that you're better off mounting a few low-flow 120mm units than a single louder one. Try the Panaflo, Papst, or Yate Loon.

Better yet, stick a fan controller in the front panel of that monster and tweak to your heart's content.

The fans that come w/ the stacker are very good.. The only change I made was to change the rear fan to a Panaflow 120 x 38 M1..

As far as the 120 x 25 fans, I think they are the best I've used so far. I had Thermaltake, Vantec, AOC, Sunon, Global, Kingwin, Silverstone, CoolerMaster, and Panaflow.

Jose

yeah, since your case is so large, you will need more airflow than say my superlanboy. Exhaust will be very important as the front bezel is lined with holes. These holes pretty much allow you to not really need as many intake fans.

What I would do:

1x 120mm Yateloon D12SL-12 for intake.
1x 120mm Yateloon D12SL-12 for exhaust.
Seasonic or other quiet power supply with quiet 120mm fan.
Panaflo 92mm L1 if the cm stacker has 92mm blow hole.
2x 80mm panaflo 12L for exhaust (whereever you do not have the power supply. If you have 2 powersupplies, then you dont need the 2x panaflo.

Hook up all case fans to rheobus - preferably one that gives 5V-11.5V spread.
I would first try to see if temps are ok when all case fans are on minimum speed. If not, bring the exhaust 120mm to higher voltage. You should be fine with leaving the rest of the fans on low.

You may want to consider using an aftermarket cooling device for your future graphics card. Something that exhausts heat directly out of the case would be beneficial, but not really a requirement - something quiet would be nice.

Thermalright XP120 with another Yateloon (modded corners) or
Thermalright XP90 with Panaflo L1BX 92mm
These would be hooked up to a fan controller for variability of speed/noise.

Replace NB fan with a passive heatsink if possible.

Suspend harddrives if possible.

So, yateloon for 120 if you can find them. I have had luck with Panaflo L1 for 92mm and 80mm. You will want a fan controller.

Get rid of the rear exhaust fan. If I remember correctly, that thing pushes less than 15cfm. I replaced mine with a Panaflo

i was just curious what the letters in the fan model names meant....i found a yate loon fan wth D12SM-12....not D12SL-12 (so out of stock everywhere)....i've noticed different letters with many fan manufacturers...im not sure what i'm looking at half of the time. is it low and medium? :shrugs:
