CM Elite 120, or BitFenix Prodigy? 7790

just toying with a build idea for a friend. Thinking of an i3-3245 and Asrock H77M-ITX. Looking to add a 7790 dual-slot HIS card, and planning to use a standard DVD-RW and 1TB HDD, along with a small SSD for SRT caching. Windows 7 64-bit.

Edit: Biggest Q I have is, will both of these fit the blower-style two-slot HIS 7790 card?

Widely different cases. One is an actual mini-ITX size case for people who want to save space, the other is a fancy looking almost-micro ATX size case that can only fit mini ITX boards.

I have a CM 120 that I use for a living room gaming PC, and I'm currently using a 5870 Eyefinity 6 which is 11" and there's several inches to spare. From what I can tell it can pretty much fit any card that's two slots wide; I have an HIS 7870 Ice-Q that is basically 2.5 slots wide and it won't fit simply due to the width, but that's a rare case.

I have the same mobo (H77M-ITX) and one word of caution is that the selection of aftermarket coolers is somewhat limited since the cpu slot is close to the PCI-express slot. I'm currently running the stock cooler on an i5 3570, it's not ideal but at load with stock speeds it's good enough.

No overclocking and mid-tier GPU? The Elite 120 would serve him well. It is aesthetically appealing as well, IMO. The Elite 120 can fit a 7770 without obstructing the HDD bays. no problem, so a slightly longer 7790 should be ok. According to the info on Cooler Master's official page for the case, it can accommodate a video card up to 13.5 inches.

If you do get the Elite 120, I believe it is best if you get a modular PSU for the Elite 120 and one that does not occupy too much space length-wse. The PSU cables can be difficult to route due to the hard drive bay. A a 500 W PSU with a load of cables would easily stuff the case.

larry im warning u right now..

the prodgey is the MM of the itx world..
Its BIG... and BIG.. and BIG... for an ITX case.
