Clustering with Load Balancing....

I am working on a web site for work and we are going to need multiple application servers on the front end and probably a cluster of SQL servers on the back end. Should I use clustering for the front end application servers or just load balancing? If load balancing is to be used, how would I go about setting it up. Does anyone know of any resources that I may read up on to learn about setting it up, or is it something simple that someone can tell me
