Club-3D X800XT recognized as X800?

Dear forum-goers,

I recently got my Club-3D X800XT card (wheee!) and installed it. Everything works properly, except that I noticed Windows XP recognizes the card as X800 and not as X800XT, even after installing ATI Catalysts 4.11.

The card does have 500/500(1000) clockspeeds and has 16 active pipelines. Besides, ATI's website doesn't say anything about X800 itself; there's no such card available, it appears. Should I worry about this or not?

Also, this may have been asked several times before and I shouldn't pay too much attention to this, but still... on 3DMark05 I got about 5300 points, which is really good, but on 3DMark I got around 3500 points on the same settings. What's going on? The games do play very well, so I know I shouldn't worry about this, but I still find it weird. 😛

Nothing to worry about there. That is normal.

I have a Connect 3D - x800xt and it reports out the same way in device manager. I think they all do this, regardless of pro, or xt.

BTW most XTs are coming with 1.6 (1300 mhz) mem, so that means you will likely be able to oc to XT-PE levels quite easily. Mine is running at those speeds without breaking a sweat. In all seriousness, I have no idea why this card did not qualify as a PE card.

Thanks for the reply. I also found that my card has 1.6ns RAM, so I'm going to overclock it as well, but for now I just want to test the card's stability for a couple of weeks. When I'm satisfied with it, I'll overclock it to XT PE speeds. 🙂

My Gigabyte X800 Pro flashed with BBA X800 Pro BIOS is recognized as Radeon X800 Pro in my device manager. I wish I had gotten an XT but I only paid $330 for what I did get and it is great in all my games.

Heh!

I just did this, being as my x800xt was running stable at PE speeds and it works.

Device manager picks it up as an X800XT Platinum Edition.

I've read that thread before, but I didn't think that'd actually work for an XT card as well. Nice! I'll try that when I get home. 🙂

Edit: After overclocking it to XT PE speeds to test its stability first, of course. 😛
