Closet doors: mirror or wood?

I can't imagine any sliding mirror doors that wouldn't look tacky.

I never realized mirror closet doors were so tacky. I don't think they look that bad, especially if you don't have a full length mirror elsewhere. Then again, I'm not homosex nor an interior decorator.

Bifold doors seem to be less likely to fall apart or get stuck vs purely sliding doors. Therefore, I prefer the bifold option. The color/finish does not matter IMO.

I think it looks stupid, I don't want the bedroom to look like a gym.

I'm talking out of my ass because here closets integrated into the wall don't exist, it's always free standing furniture.

EDIT: saw a few pics, discard the mirror it's horrible. Plus unless it slides into the wall you can't access the whole closet so it's not good.

I wish everything was built with hallway-style 'coat closets' or whatever. That little room that a lot of people have. With a normal damn door. They could at least do french doors on closets...anything for a damn proper hinged door.

I blame Europe for this mess of doors. Everyone needs to be stylish...Now I have to replace ELEVEN closet doors that bi-fold. FUCK. THAT.

Its more a space issue. Hinged doors need a large clear area to open. This limits how close you can put furniture, etc. I was looking into french patio doors recently and its the same issue. If you put in a hinged door you lose lots of floor space.

I would not have mirrored doors with children in the house, unless the mirrors were of shatterproof material, since I know of a tragedy of the worst kind caused by a sliding glass door.

Some people have very small bedrooms, and sliding doors allow placing the bed closer to the closet.

Mirrored closet doors are not sliding glass doors. The mirror is actually glued to a stamped metal backing that is the actual 'door'. I know this because my son turned around holding an aluminum baseball bat and smashed our mirrored closet door in our entryway. They are not really dangerous, unless your run your hands over the cracks or step on the tiny bits that fall off.

Of course, we already had a wood replacement that I hadn't stained and finished yet, because mirrored doors are tacky as hell. Leave mirrors in the bar or on the ceiling where they belong.

I have a full-body mirror hanged on the wall in the corridor.
It has a thin brass frame.

Why the heck would I need a full length mirror? There is a half height mirror on my dresser.

However my wife wanted a full length one so I put one on the back of the bathroom door. But you don't see it unless you are using it.

full height mirror is at the back of the bathroom door. And dresser has a helf height.
