Cloning multiple drives to a larger drive... possible?

I'm wondering if the following is possible.

I have four boot drives in my various computers. The total capacity of all four combined is less than a 1TB.

Can I partition a 1TB external drive into 4 partitions that are large enough for my 4 boot drives and then image each to the large external drive and be able to restore if necessary?

It would be convenient to have all of these image backups on one drive and before I get into it I want to make sure it will work?

You could image them all and then restore them..
No need for 4 partitions..

Why don't you do each drive as separate image file? If you need to restore, just use the image of particular drive.

The way you proposed will be much more difficult especially as each is a boot drive.
