Im trying to clone my Seagate 160Gb SATA hard drive. Im trying to clone it onto a 2nd hard drive that is IDE. However, its taken 30 hours and it is only 98% completed. Its been sitting on 98% for awhile now and keeps reporting Defective Sectors on the hard drive. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you

Stop the cloning. The cloning should take, maybe, a couple of hours. Not a couple of days.

Make diagnostics CDs for both the drives (downloadable from the drive makers' web sites or included with the drives). Test the integrity of both drives with the diagnostics utilities. The tests will also help identify any drive setup or controller issues.
