CloneCD hangs my Win XP system

sak

Senior member
Hey was using CloneCd 3.0 but it keept on crashing on my Win XP system. This happens when i am copying an image or doing on the fly copying on either of my CD-rom or DVD-rom when the process is compleat at 100% and cloneCD tries to eject the cd its trying to copy... right at this movement it just hangs the system...

i Tried upgrading to cloneCD 4.0 but that gave me the same problem... is there anyone who had this problem and fixed this really annoying bug...

i config is

IDE1- Just 32X CD-R
IDE2 - 50X CD-Rom (master) - DVD-rom (slave)

any suggestions???

TIA

It was my understanding that CloneCD was not XP compatible. when I tried to intall it along with EZ CD creator WinXP automatically disabled it and gave me an error message at startup. I would hope that they had gotten it fixed by now though...

You have to run it in compatibility mode....right-click over CloneCD.exe, and then toggle over to Run in Win98/ME mode.

Problem solved 🙂

Hmm

I am using CloneCd 4.0 with no problems at all with XP.

Liteon 24xcd-rw drive.

and I am not using compatibility mode....

I usually put the disc I want to copy in my cd-burner drive, and read the image to my hd. Than burn that image.

CloneCD has always worked fine on my XP boxes. Was using v3.0.x when XP first came out and have steadily upgraded to 4.0 over the last 11 months. All versions have worked flawlessly on about 5 or 6 different installs of XP, and different hardware configurations.
