Fresh instal of vista ultimate 64 and now it shows my 74GB raptor is failing. I've got an RMA on the way and would like to avoid reinstalling if possible.
Just curious what your opinions are.
A. Should I make an image onto my backup hard drive and restore it to the new drive when I get it?
B. Should I connect the new drive up to my pc and "clone" the old one to it?
C. Reinstall Vista.
I've done A. numerous times with XP through the windows interface with maybe one time having an issue. But can it be done by making a bootable cd/dvd and or pointing to the image on the backup drive?
Never tried B. before.
C is easy but I don't want to have to reinstall if unnecessary.
Lastly, Ihave a version of acronis 8 or 9 maybe that I used with xp. not sure it'll even work with vista. If theres a better solution you've used for oned of my intended purposes, please tell me.
