My shower head is really working like crap and I think it's because of hard water deposits. What's good to soak this thing in? TIA.

Get some, whats it called, like LRM or something. Gray bottle with a yellow/green label. Lime/rust/something. Works incredibly.

When I worked in a restaurant we used something called "Lime Away". If you left in a pan for more than a few hours it would start to eat away at the metal.

I think it's CLR (calcium/lime/rust). ;)

You could probably also try Lime Away... or even WD-40.

If you have a local Wal-Mart, they sell something called The Works. It's a toilet bowl cleaner, but it works to remove lime and calcium deposits from the bathroom. And it's cheap too, under 2.00 a bottle.

Why futz around with chemicals and hoping it will work?

Take the thing apart (it's not that hard) and use some small instruments to clean out the gunk. WAYYYYY more effective than waiting for chemicals to dissolve it.
