Clip on Lapel mic for PC that doesnt require boost?

i use a headset that does not have a mic on it so i currently use a zalman clip on mic that is overly recommended online.. and well, its shit. even with the input jacks separated and all volume turned up it requires 30db boost for ventrilo and is very buzzy as you can imagine with that much boost

there has to be SOME mic that doesnt require boost am i right? I dont mind if its just a lapel mic that i clip to my current headphone cable. I also dont mind maybe having to buy a preamp or something.

i just want clear ventrilo audio that isnt overly boosted and buzzy as a result. with a $100 budget. But the main requirement is that it fits on my person or my current headset/cable with slight modification.

What is the sensitivity of the zalman? Have you tried just using windows recorder and test the result in order to see if it is the culprit?

It only has a 4’ cable. I would put a preamp on it if level is too low.

Mic not getting enough power maybe? What are you using it for? If it's for gaming or Skype, you might be better off getting a USB or Bluetooth headset.
